Wholesale trading terms

The following terms apply to all wholesale transactions conducted in connection with kanishawls.com. These terms supplement, and where consistent, are incorporated into, any individual order agreement or proforma invoice.

Enquiries and orders

• Submitting a catalogue request or enquiry form does not constitute a binding order
• A binding order is created only when both parties have confirmed the order in writing (email confirmation or signed proforma invoice)
• We reserve the right to decline any order without obligation to provide a reason
• Minimum order quantities (MOQ) are as stated in our current catalogue. Currently a minimum of 10 pieces applies, subject to variation by product category

Pricing

• All prices are quoted in the currency specified in the proforma invoice (typically Indian Rupees or US Dollars for international orders)
• Prices quoted on the Site or in general communications are indicative only. Confirmed pricing is that stated in the written proforma invoice
• Prices are exclusive of shipping costs, customs duties, import taxes, and any other charges payable in the destination country unless expressly stated
• We reserve the right to revise pricing at any time. Price changes will not affect confirmed and accepted orders

Payment

• Payment terms are as stated in the proforma invoice
• We typically require a deposit (percentage to be confirmed per order) before production commences and the balance before shipment
• Payment must be received in cleared funds before goods are released for shipping
• Bank transfer details will be provided in the proforma invoice. We accept no responsibility for payments made to incorrect accounts

Production and delivery

• Genuine hand-woven Kani shawls require significant lead times due to the nature of the craft. Lead times are confirmed per order and range from weeks (for in-stock items) to many months (for custom-woven orders)
• Delivery timelines are estimates. We accept no liability for delays caused by circumstances beyond our control, including customs delays, shipping disruptions, or force majeure events
• Risk of loss passes to the buyer upon handover to the shipping carrier

Product authenticity and GI certification

• All products we supply are GI-certified authentic Kani shawls woven in the Kashmir Valley. GI documentation is provided with each shipment
• As handmade products, minor natural variations in colour, pattern, and dimension are inherent and do not constitute defects
• Product images are representative. Actual products may vary slightly in appearance due to natural dye variation and photographic representation

Returns and disputes

• We do not accept returns for change of mind on wholesale orders
• Claims for damaged or incorrectly supplied goods must be raised within 7 days of receipt with photographic evidence
• Genuine defects will be addressed by replacement, credit, or refund at our discretion
• All disputes shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation between the parties

Privacy and data

Your use of this Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using this Site, you consent to the collection and use of your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.

We use Zoho Forms to process enquiry submissions. Data submitted through our forms is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and Zoho's terms of service.
